As I was born in 1970 I got into Punk/HC relatively late at the end of the 80s. I guess I started ordering from X-Mist in 1990 and you can say without reservation that Armin was a very important person in my later musical education. I found the first time to browse in his store much more exciting than the following Contropotere concert in the JUZ Nagold. When Armin recommended things to me, it was always clear that he didn't want to sell you anything, you were rather mocked by him if you ordered something he didn't like himself. In the beginning, this intimidated me a bit as a newcomer to the scene, but later I found it rather funny.
My personal relationship with Armin was never very close and was rather limited to small talk when we met at concerts, he mostly behind his record crates. In 1995 I was represented on an X-Mist 7" compilation with my band at that time, 10 years later again with another band and my own 7". Looking back especially to my beginnings with this music and Armin's role in it, I am very happy that I was allowed to be a tiny part of the "X-Mist family". Thanks for that!

Als Jahrgang 1970 bin ich Ende der 80er relativ spät zum Punk/HC gestoßen. Ich schätze, dass ich 1990 angefangen habe, bei X-Mist zu bestellen und man kann ohne Einschränkung sagen, dass Armin eine sehr wichtige Person in meiner musikalischen Späterziehung war. Das erste Mal bei ihm im Laden stöbern zu können, fand ich deutlich aufregender als das anschließende Contropotere Konzert im JUZ Nagold. Wenn Armin mir Sachen empfohlen hat, war immer klar, dass er einem nichts andrehen wollte, man wurde eher noch von ihm verspottet, wenn man etwas bestellt hat, das ihm selbst nicht gefiel. Anfangs hat mich das als "Szene-Neuling" noch etwas eingeschüchtert, später fand ich das eher lustig.
Meine persönliche Beziehung zu Armin war nie sonderlich eng und hat sich eher auf Smalltalk beschränkt, wenn man sich auf Konzerten begegnete, er meist hinter seinen Plattenkisten. 1995 war ich mit meiner damaligen Band auf einer X-Mist 7"-Comp vertreten, 10 Jahre später noch mal mit anderer Band und eigener 7". Wenn ich besonders auf meine Anfänge mit dieser Musik und Armins Rolle darin zurückblicke, freue ich mich sehr, dass ich ein winziger Teil der "X-Mist-Familie" sein durfte. Danke dafür!
